WOOD WOOL AS A WEED KILLER

Dealing with weeds can really be nerve racking and a daunting process. Over the years, Gardeners and Farmers continue to search for affordable and easy ways of combating weeds in their gardens, farms or lawns.

One of the forms of weed control that has been found to be effective and helpful is the use of chemicals known as herbicides. Though used by many, herbicides could be a harmful chemical to plants, animals and even humans.

Traditionally, lawns and gardens have been treated by mulching. A mulch is a cover of a substance sprinkled on the surface of soil. People apply the mulch to conserve soil moisture, boost the fertility and health of the soil, reduce and control weedgrowth and for the aesthetic benefits.

Mulching is a simple and less expensive process. It provides enormous benefits when preserving gardens, farms, lawns and trees.

Mulching is one of the main ways of controlling weeds while avoiding harmful chemicals such as weedicides and fertilizers.  Farmers or Gardeners may use organic methods or inorganic mulch to control weeds.

Organic mulch materials include leaves, bark, etc. Wood wool, however, is an inorganic mulch which is one of the best materials for weed control. That is the reason why we recommend wood wool.

Wood wool is the residue produced as a result of shredding timber. Even though a by-product, it has a range of uses which makes it a versatile product.

In mulching, wood wool is sprinkled on the bare soil in the garden or farm to reduce weed growth. Another benefit of applying wood wool is to serve as a soil conservation measure while adding nutrients to the soil.

Wood wool is an affordable source of mulching material; if done properly, saves you a lot of money on pesticides and weed control.

Gardens are healthier and more beautiful with wood wool!
